The Solid Snake Amiibo is making a comeback! Fans who missed the chance to grab this iconic figure can pre-order it now ahead of its February 13th restock.  Retailers like Best Buy have already listed the re-release for $15.99 USD.

Snake's inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Brawl back in 2008 was a groundbreaking moment, foreshadowing the extensive crossovers we see in games like Fortnite today.  His presence in the series, along with his own Amiibo figure, continues to excite fans.

While the peak of Amiibo collecting may have passed, the demand for certain figures remains. The restock offers a second chance for those who missed out on adding Solid Snake to their collection.

With the official announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its backward compatibility features, a key question arises: will Amiibo functionality carry over?  While Nintendo hasn't explicitly confirmed Amiibo support, several leaks suggest the presence of an NFC reader in the updated right Joy-Con, hinting at continued compatibility.

The fine print mentioning potential compatibility limitations for some games has raised concerns among fans. However, given the prevalence of Amiibo support across numerous Nintendo titles and the company's apparent focus on appealing to existing Switch users by allowing game transfers, it seems unlikely that Amiibo support would be dropped entirely.

While the future popularity of Amiibo remains uncertain, Nintendo's continued investment in the technology across Wii U, 3DS, and Switch suggests ongoing support. This, coupled with the timing of the Solid Snake Amiibo re-release, indicates that the Switch 2 will likely maintain compatibility with existing Amiibo and their associated games.
