Rainbow Six Siege Bolsters Anti-Cheat Measures, Strengthens Fight Against Cheaters

Ubisoft has significantly enhanced Rainbow Six Siege's anti-cheat system to combat cheating more effectively.  This update aims to create a fairer and more enjoyable gaming experience for the dedicated Rainbow Six Siege community.

Despite its 2015 release, Rainbow Six Siege retains a strong player base due to Ubisoft's ongoing support.  While facing competition from titles like Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege remains a prominent tactical shooter, maintaining a steady player count over the years according to SteamDB.

Rainbow Six Siege detailed these anti-cheat improvements on X (formerly Twitter).  Botting now results in a permanent ban on the first offense, enabled by an improved detection system that minimizes false positives. Previously, botting incurred an initial 15-day ban, followed by a permanent ban on the second offense.

Furthermore, cheaters detected mid-match are instantly removed, and the match is canceled to maintain competitive integrity. Ubisoft has also implemented significant security enhancements to disrupt prominent cheat providers.

These updates build upon what was already considered a robust anti-cheat system, further solidifying Rainbow Six Siege's commitment to fair play.

Completely eradicating cheaters in any FPS game is a constant challenge. Games like Counter-Strike 2 have implemented harsh penalties, but determined cheaters often find ways around them. Developers continually strive to outmaneuver cheat providers in this ongoing battle.

Ubisoft hopes these improvements will significantly impact cheating within Rainbow Six Siege. This is a positive start to 2025 for the game, following the recent January update, which introduced some controversial Operator and weapon adjustments. Balancing gameplay and satisfying all players in a tactical FPS is a difficult but essential task.
