Hexworks has deployed the latest update (Version 1.7.73) for their dark fantasy action RPG, Lords of the Fallen, enhancing the gameplay experience for players across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.  This January patch follows the December update which focused on movement refinements and animation improvements.

This update prioritizes improvements to online connectivity, addressing issues like rubberbanding and lag to create a smoother co-op experience, especially crucial during challenging boss encounters.  Additionally, players now have greater character customization options with the addition of selectable male and female body types during character creation.

The atmospheric Umbral realm also receives attention with a new audio option, allowing players to fine-tune their auditory experience within this parallel dimension. This update further demonstrates Hexworks' commitment to refining Lords of the Fallen based on community feedback.

A sequel to Lords of the Fallen is currently in development and scheduled for a 2026 release. However, initial information suggests it may not launch on Steam, disappointing some PC players.  The sequel, rumored to be titled "Death of the Fallen," is anticipated to be an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC at launch.

This upcoming title promises a more commercially-oriented art style, shared-progression co-op, and elevated production values compared to its predecessor.
