Sony is commemorating the upcoming PC release of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered and the premiere of HBO's The Last of Us Season 2 with a special limited edition DualSense controller.  This collectible controller, launching in April, offers a unique design for fans of the acclaimed franchise.

The limited edition DualSense controller boasts a striking black and white matte finish, adorned with glossy icons representing trophies from The Last of Us games.  Among these symbols, the firefly, moth, and wolf stand out, each holding significant meaning within the narrative. The firefly is a direct nod to the Firefly organization from the first game, while the moth and wolf symbolize the complex relationship between Ellie and Abby in Part 2, as explained by Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann.

Priced at $84.99, the limited edition controller is available for pre-order starting March 14th on the PlayStation Direct website and select retailers.  This release aligns with the launch of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC, which boasts full support for PlayStation controllers.

Notably, a PSN account is no longer required to play PlayStation titles on PC. However, connecting a PSN account offers exclusive rewards. For The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, PC players with linked PSN accounts receive 50 bonus points to unlock additional features and an Ellie skin featuring Jordan's Jacket from Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. This added incentive further bridges the console and PC gaming experience.

While The Last of Us has enjoyed over a decade of popularity, the HBO series is expected to further propel its growth and introduce it to a new audience.  The future of the game franchise, including a potential The Last of Us Part 3, remains a topic of discussion among fans, particularly in light of Neil Druckmann's recent comments on the possibility of the series concluding with Part 2.
