Call of Duty Season 3 Delayed, Verdansk Return Imminent?

Activision has announced a delay for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 3, pushing the launch back to April 3rd.  The publisher cites the need for additional time to polish the update and deliver a high-quality experience for players.

The delay follows a relatively light Season 2 update for Warzone, which focused on gameplay improvements and bug fixes rather than new content. Activision has acknowledged this and indicated that Season 3 will be a much more significant update for both Warzone and Black Ops 6.

The delay announcement came via the official Call of Duty Twitter account. Activision emphasized the importance of Season 3 for both games and promised to share more details following Warzone's fifth anniversary celebrations on March 10th.

Speculation is rife that Season 3 will mark the return of Verdansk, the original Warzone map.  This is fueled by Activision's own confirmation of Verdansk's return in Spring 2025, alongside numerous leaks and the publisher's description of Season 3 as a "big moment" for the franchise.

Leaks suggest that the return of Verdansk might also bring back popular content from 2019's Modern Warfare, including operators like Roze and Mace, and weapons such as the Grau 5.56 Assault Rifle and HDR Sniper Rifle. Currently, Warzone features content from Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and Black Ops 6, but none from the original Modern Warfare.
