The highly anticipated sequel to the immersive medieval RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, is already receiving post-launch support, with developer Warhorse Studios detailing the upcoming Hardcore Mode in a recent livestream.

Following a successful launch with positive reviews and impressive sales figures, exceeding 2 million copies in its first two weeks, Warhorse Studios is eager to provide players with even more engaging content. The free Hardcore Mode update, slated for a March release as part of the Spring update, promises a significantly more challenging and realistic gameplay experience.

Hardcore Mode differentiates itself from the standard gameplay by minimizing the user interface. Players will navigate the vast world without the aid of a player marker on the map or cardinal directions on the compass, relying solely on their sense of direction. Fast travel is also disabled, forcing players to traverse the landscape organically and experience the true scale of medieval Bohemia.

Furthermore, the mode introduces ten negative perks, one more than its predecessor, from which players must choose three.  These perks drastically alter the gameplay, adding layers of difficulty and encouraging strategic decision-making.

The available negative perks include 'Bad Luck,' reducing carrying capacity and risking back injuries; 'Heavy-Footed,' increasing noise and shoe wear; 'Numbskull,' slowing experience gain; 'Somnambulant,' accelerating energy depletion and risking sleepwalking incidents; 'Hangry Henry,' intensifying hunger effects and reducing food effectiveness; 'Sweaty,' increasing the radius of body odor detection; 'Picky Eater,' accelerating food spoilage and reducing animal carcass yields; 'Bashful,' preventing asking for directions and hindering speech skill progression; 'Punchable Face,' increasing the danger of encounters; and 'Menace,' making criminal penalties permanent and more severe.

Beyond the Hardcore Mode, the livestream also showcased upcoming free customization options, allowing players to personalize Henry's appearance with new hairstyles and beards.  A 'Freshly Trimmed' buff, temporarily boosting charisma, will be applied after each styling.

With its commitment to post-launch content and the introduction of Hardcore Mode, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is poised to offer players an even deeper and more challenging dive into the historically rich world of medieval Bohemia.
