Pokemon GO Unova Tour, Free Codes, and More Pokemon Day 2025 Celebrations

Pokemon GO is gearing up for a massive celebration with the Unova Tour, running from March 1st to March 2nd, 2025.  This event commemorates all things Pokemon Black and White, and Niantic anticipates a huge turnout of trainers worldwide.

In preparation for the influx of players, Pokemon GO has increased storage limits.  Trainers can now hold up to 9,800 Pokemon and 8,800 items.  Niantic has also released several free codes to redeem before the event begins.

Trainers can visit the Pokemon GO web store and enter the code GOTOURUNOVA to unlock the Pokemon Presents '25 x GO Tour Timed Research. Completing this research rewards players with one of the Unova starter Pokemon: Snivy, Tepig, or Oshawott.  The chosen starter comes with a special event background. This timed research must be completed by March 9th, 2025.

Furthermore, trainers can use the code RCC4AJPAUCW86 for 50 Blaze Fusion energy, and WJ5DFWASCL65W for 50 Volt Fusion energy. These codes are valid until March 2nd, 2025, and will aid in fusing Reshiram or Zekrom with Kyurem to create Black Kyurem and White Kyurem respectively.

These codes are the latest in a series of giveaways from Niantic.  Recently, players could access three timed research tasks, each featuring a legendary Pokemon from the forces of nature trio: Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus.  These tasks are available until March 1st, 2025.

The Pokemon Day festivities extend beyond Pokemon GO.  Game Freak announced a special item distribution for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players, available before the upcoming 7-star Terra raids. Kicking off on February 28th, these raids initially feature Meowscarada with the mighty mark, followed by Skeledirge and Quaquaval in subsequent weeks.

The Pokemon Company also revealed gameplay footage for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, set for a late 2025 release on Nintendo Switch.  The preview showcased an evolving Lumiose City and revealed the starting trio: Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile.
