The Polish game development studio, Bloober Team, known for its work on psychological horror titles like Layers of Fear and The Medium, has once again partnered with Konami after the successful launch of the Silent Hill 2 remake in October 2024. The remake, a complete reimagining of the classic survival horror game, was met with critical acclaim and strong sales, surpassing two million copies by January 2025.

This renewed collaboration signifies a deepening relationship between Bloober Team and Konami.  The partnership underscores Konami's trust in Bloober Team's ability to deliver high-quality horror experiences, built upon the foundation of the Silent Hill 2 remake's success.  The agreement also aligns with Bloober Team's strategic growth plan, focusing on expanding its internal development capabilities within a first-party framework.

While details of the new project remain undisclosed, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno expressed excitement about the collaboration, promising to share "something truly special" with fans when the time is right.  Although he refrained from revealing specifics about the forthcoming Konami-related project, the studio's proven track record in the horror genre strongly suggests another terrifying experience may be on the horizon.

Speculation abounds regarding the nature of this new project. While a continuation within the Silent Hill universe is a possibility,  Bloober Team's expertise could also be applied to a different Konami IP, potentially revitalizing another classic horror franchise.  Given the recent announcement, it's likely some time will pass before any concrete details emerge.

In the meantime, Bloober Team has a busy schedule.  Cronos: The New Dawn, a survival horror game, is slated for release later in 2025.  Furthermore, the studio is actively working on another undisclosed project, potentially another collaborative effort.
