WWE 2K25 Skips Show Intro Cutscenes, Focuses on New Features and Authenticity
2025-02-24 04:30:06The upcoming WWE 2K25 is generating buzz for its new additions, including the free-roaming multiplayer mode, The Island, and the return of features like intergender matches and chain wrestling. However, not all aspects of previous games are making a comeback.
Developer Bryan Williams, in a recent interview with WrestleZone, discussed the changes in WWE 2K25 aimed at enhancing the game's authenticity and aligning it closer to actual WWE programming. He confirmed that the show introduction cutscenes, a fan-favorite feature from previous MyUniverse modes, will not be included in this year's release. However, he didn't rule out their potential return in the future.
The absence of these pre-match show intros has disappointed a segment of the WWE gaming community. Many players feel these sequences, with their accompanying pyrotechnics and music, contributed significantly to the immersive experience of Universe Mode, making it feel more like an authentic WWE show and less like a simple exhibition mode.
Some fans have suggested the option to enable or disable these intros via the settings menu, giving players the choice. This would cater to those who appreciate the added presentation while allowing others to bypass them if preferred.
WWE 2K24 also lacked these show introductions, which left many long-time players frustrated. While new features and technical improvements are expected via future DLC, the return of the show intros remains uncertain, depending on fan demand and Visual Concepts'priorities.
