Wizards of the Coast is bringing the world of bending to the tabletop with a new Magic: The Gathering crossover featuring Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. This collaboration continues the trend of  "Universes Beyond" sets, which integrate popular franchises into the Magic multiverse.

This isn't the only major crossover on the horizon for Magic: The Gathering.  Players can also look forward to a Final Fantasy set releasing in early June 2025,  further demonstrating Wizards of the Coast's commitment to expanding the game's reach through partnerships.

Marvel fans will also have plenty to be excited about,  with a recent Marvel "Secret Lair" release and a teased Spider-Man expansion adding to the growing list of superhero-themed cards.

The upcoming Avatar set draws from a rich source of material, encompassing both Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel, The Legend of Korra.  It's expected that key characters and iconic moments from both series will be represented in the card set, potentially including new Commander decks.

With a new Avatar series currently in development, there’s even potential for characters from the upcoming show to make their way into the card game, offering a glimpse into the future of the Avatar universe.

While "Universes Beyond" collaborations are generating considerable excitement, Wizards of the Coast continues to develop the core Magic: The Gathering storyline.  Recent releases like "Aetherdrift" explore new planes and mechanics, while upcoming sets such as "Tarkir: Dragonstorm" and the space opera-themed "Edge of Eternities" promise to further enrich the game's lore.
