Mortal Kombat 1 Datamine Hints at Potential Hara-Kiri Finishers

Recent datamining efforts within Mortal Kombat 1 have unearthed intriguing animations, hinting at the potential return of Hara-Kiri finishers.  These self-inflicted fatalities, a feature seen in previous Mortal Kombat titles like Deception, have sparked excitement within the community.

The timing of this discovery coincides with the recent inclusion of Conan the Barbarian to the roster and the upcoming arrival of the T-1000. These additions, along with the secret inclusion of the pink ninja Floyd and a new stage, demonstrate NetherRealm Studios' ongoing commitment to expanding the game's content.

The unearthed animations, potentially depicting Hara-Kiri fatalities, were shared on Reddit by user InfiniteNightZ. Speculation suggests these could be implemented as Quitalities, given references within the game's code.  This theory aligns with the animations' depiction of characters brutally ending their own lives.

Further supporting this theory, prominent dataminer Interloko corroborated the findings, uncovering two additional animations not present in the initial leak.  Interestingly, while most DLC characters possess these animations, Conan the Barbarian and Omniman currently lack them.

While NetherRealm Studios has yet to officially confirm these findings, the evidence continues to mount. This wouldn't be the first instance of post-launch fatalities being added to Mortal Kombat 1, recalling the previously released holiday fatalities. Players hope that any future additions will be handled differently, given the initial negative reaction to the pricing of the holiday fatalities.
