The Finals Season 6: Rising Stars - New Weapons, Modes, and Esports!

2025-03-20 19:29:29

The Finals Season 6, Rising Stars, is officially live, bringing a wealth of new content, bug fixes, quality-of-life enhancements, and balance adjustments.  Players can jump into the action right now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam to experience the new weapons, cosmetic items, and Battle Pass.

Embark Studios has exciting plans for The Finals, including a major push into esports. A new Major tournament with a $100,000 grand prize is scheduled for Q4 2025. All players will have the opportunity to compete in qualifiers for a chance to participate. Season 6 also introduces features designed to support high-level competition, such as an improved spectator mode and enhanced privacy settings for ranked tournaments.

Season 6, dubbed Rising Stars, arrives just three months after Season 5.  This substantial update, varying in size depending on the platform (with Steam users facing a near 8GB download), introduces UI updates, weapon adjustments, map changes, gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and the addition of Team Deathmatch as a permanent base mode in several arenas.

The arrival of Team Deathmatch unfortunately means the retirement of Bank It from Quick Play.  While players can still enjoy Bank It in Private Matches, Embark Studios cites its low player count as the reason for its removal. Team Deathmatch offers a similar gameplay style while enjoying significantly higher popularity.  While Bank It might make a return for future events, it will no longer be a core game mode.

Season 6's highlight is undoubtedly the powerful Minigun for the Heavy class. This weapon boasts a high rate of fire and massive ammunition capacity, ideal for tearing through opponents.  However, its considerable weight and size will significantly impact player mobility.  The ARN-220 assault rifle for Light players and the CB-01 Repeater rifle for the Medium class round out the new weapon additions.  Full details are available in the patch notes below.

The comprehensive Season 6 patch notes detail the new weapons, the transition to Team Deathmatch, updates to Quick Play progression, changes to arenas like Las Vegas Stadium, the new Battle Pass, sponsor options, customization features, improvements to private matches and spectator mode, expanded streamer mode and privacy options, and much more.

The patch notes also cover balance changes affecting gadgets, specializations, and weapons like the AKM, CL-40, and FAMAS. Numerous bug fixes and content additions across animation, audio, controller support, gameplay, and maps are also included, enhancing the overall player experience.
