With the release of Assassin's Creed Mirage just days away, reports have emerged that Ubisoft has implemented an anti-harassment plan for its developers, aiming to protect them from online attacks.

One employee informed French news outlet BFMTV, "We've been advised against publicly stating our affiliation with Ubisoft on social media platforms to mitigate the risk of harassment."

Ubisoft has also partnered with the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) in Canada, where Assassin's Creed Mirage is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec. A source revealed, "This is a Canadian initiative; a dedicated team is monitoring online activity and prepared to act swiftly against targeted attacks."

Ubisoft is also reportedly providing psychological and legal support to employees targeted due to their association with the game.  Specialized teams, backed by legal counsel, will monitor social media platforms and are prepared to file complaints if necessary.

The source emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, "This is different from anything we've faced before. This is serious."

In a statement to PC Gamer, Ubisoft said: "Our stance has always been that our team members’ social media channels are their own.  The safety of our employees, including their online safety, is our top priority which is why as a standard Ubisoft practice we offer guidelines regarding social media navigation, digital security, and support for team member wellbeing.  We also share resources that help prevent and address online harassment, which sadly, our teams are faced with."
