The game's active community has taken to the official subreddit to voice their concerns, comparing the limited deck slots to other digital card games like Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel and Magic: The Gathering Arena, which offer significantly more.  Players argue that with the constant influx of new cards and strategies, 15 slots are simply not enough to accommodate the diverse range of decks they wish to create.

The call for more deck slots has intensified with the anticipated arrival of Ranked mode, a competitive battle environment expected to debut soon.  Players anticipate needing dedicated decks for competitive play, in addition to slots for more experimental or casual decks.  This has led some players to speculate that The Pokémon Company may be planning to introduce additional deck slots as a premium purchase.

With the introduction of Ranked mode, the need for more deck slots is amplified. Players want to experiment with different strategies, build meta decks for competitive play, and maintain their fun, “jank” decks without constantly deleting and rebuilding.  The current limitation hinders their ability to fully engage with the game’s evolving meta and explore the expanding card pool.

The demand for more deck slots comes on the heels of impressive milestones for Pokémon TCG Live.  The Pokémon Company recently announced that the game has surpassed 100 million downloads since its launch.  This, combined with the strong early sales figures exceeding $120 million, underscores the game's popularity and the growing need for expanded deck-building options.
