Destiny 2 Keeps Glitch, All Classes Can Use Class-Specific Weapons

Bungie has officially confirmed that a recent bug in Destiny 2, which made class-specific swords and glaives accessible to all classes, is here to stay.  While most weapons in Destiny 2 can be used by any of the three classes (Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans), certain weapons, primarily swords and glaives, were initially designed for specific classes.

One example is the Goldtusk, a legendary Hunter-specific sword intended to give the class a ninja-like aesthetic.  Destiny 2: The Witch Queen also introduced exotic glaives, each tailored to a particular class, offering bonuses such as protective shields, healing turrets, or seeking projectiles.

This class restriction was inadvertently lifted during the Episode Heresy update. Players quickly discovered and exploited this glitch, creating unique subclass builds, despite some animations appearing awkward with certain classes performing actions they weren't originally meant to.

Originally reported as a glitch granting players access to unreleased Episode Heresy weapons, the issue quickly evolved.  Players found themselves wielding class-specific weapons regardless of their chosen Guardian.  This unexpected turn of events led to a wave of experimentation with new builds and playstyles.

Bungie addressed the situation in their weekly blog post, confirming they were aware of the glitch and had initially planned to fix it.  However, the overwhelmingly positive player response, showcasing creative character builds and content, prompted them to change course.
