This device could potentially be the successor to the Meta Quest Pro, a mixed reality headset that, despite offering impressive VR and MR capabilities, struggled due to its high price point and was eventually discontinued.

While the Quest Pro's journey was short-lived, Meta seems to be exploring options for a follow-up. Gurman's report suggests the company is developing the anticipated Meta Quest 4, along with this new high-end model.  Details about this potential Quest Pro successor are limited, leaving room for speculation about its features and capabilities.

It's important to note that this project is currently in the prototype phase, and there's no guarantee it will see a commercial release.  Meta's CTO has previously stated that the company works on numerous prototypes simultaneously, and not all reach the consumer market.
