The highly anticipated Enhanced Edition of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online finally arrived on PC on March 14, 2023, bringing with it a host of graphical upgrades and new features. However, the launch hasn't been without its problems.  PC players who were promised a free Karin S95 sports car are reporting being charged nearly 2,000,000 GTA$ for the vehicle.

Following the upgrade, eligible players should receive a text message from Hao within GTA Online, directing them to claim their free Karin S95 at Southern San Andreas Super Autos. Despite the car being listed as free, numerous players have reported being charged the exorbitant sum upon attempting to acquire it.  This issue has sparked frustration within the community, with several players documenting the bug on platforms like Reddit.

The issue appears widespread, with multiple users corroborating the erroneous charge. While the unexpected cost is a significant inconvenience, there is a silver lining.  Rockstar Games appears to be actively addressing the problem and issuing refunds to affected players.  Several users have reported receiving email confirmations of the 2,000,000 GTA$ reimbursement.

Unfortunately, the Karin S95 pricing error isn't the only issue plaguing the Enhanced Edition launch on PC.  Players are also reporting the absence of text chat, a crucial communication feature present in the previous Legacy edition.  This omission makes it difficult for players to communicate in public lobbies without using a microphone, hindering social interaction within the game.

It's currently unclear whether the removal of text chat was intentional or an unintended bug.  However, the lack of communication has prompted a wave of negative reviews from PC players, highlighting the importance of this feature for the community. Rockstar Games has yet to officially address the missing text chat, leaving players uncertain about its future.

While the Enhanced Edition promises a visually enhanced and feature-rich experience, these launch issues have cast a shadow over the PC release.  Players are hopeful that Rockstar will swiftly resolve these problems and deliver the polished experience they were expecting.
