Dragon's Dogma 2 January Update Addresses Persistent Pawn Bugs and More
2025-01-30 07:39:20Capcom has released a new update for Dragon's Dogma 2, primarily targeting several persistent bugs that have impacted players' experiences. Although this update doesn't introduce any new features or content, it demonstrates Capcom's ongoing commitment to refining the action RPG, even ten months after its initial launch.
The previous update, released in late October 2024, primarily focused on optimizations for the PlayStation 5 Pro, introducing features like Spectral Super Resolution and a balanced graphics/performance mode. However, it also addressed some cross-platform issues, such as a bug affecting Pawn behavior.
This latest update delivers bug fixes across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. Several of the fixes address issues related to Pawn behavior. For instance, Pawns should no longer direct players to previously activated riftstones, a problem that occurred when a player's party had an open support Pawn slot. The update also corrects instances of Pawns delivering dialogue that didn't align with their specializations and resolves an issue preventing other players' Pawns from appearing when using riftstones at extremely high levels (above 998).
The update also addresses issues related to enemy encounters. A bug that required players to restart the game due to lack of enemy spawns has been fixed. Additionally, the update ensures that enemies' and NPCs' resistance to status effects is accurately applied.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is known for its compelling monsters and enemies, and this update ensures their continued presence in the game world. While the focus is on bug fixes, fans are still hoping for new content additions. A datamine in November hinted at potential DLC, including a possible multiplayer mode, giving players reason for optimism.
