Palworld Dev Responds to Console War Bait: "I Don't Like You"
2025-01-23 19:07:06A recent Twitter exchange saw a user attempting to ignite a console war by comparing the current player counts of *Palworld* and *Star Wars Jedi: Survivor*. The user highlighted *Palworld*'s 84,000 concurrent players on Steam versus *Jedi Survivor*'s 23,000, noting both titles were hits in the first half of last year.
While several factors could contribute to *Jedi Survivor*'s lower player count, even at its peak, the Twitter user seemed intent on framing the comparison as a console war issue. They falsely claimed *Palworld*'s initial success stemmed from its supposed Xbox exclusivity and questioned PlayStation's perceived struggles with multiplayer games.
*Palworld*'s community manager, Bucky, wasn't having it. In a blunt response, they stated, "I don't like you. Baiting with console wars in 2025 is dumb. *Palworld* has never had any exclusivity deals with anyone. Stop using us in your trash bait posts. I promise you nobody cares about this fake narrative except you, and I even doubt you do."
Bucky later clarified the reason behind *Palworld*'s delayed arrival on PlayStation. "We just didn't make a PS5 version, that's all. Our games have never been on Playstation before, until now on PS5. We saw many PS fans wanting it so we decided to give it a try."
They also admitted to being caught off guard by the provocative tweet, saying, "I'm weak, Twitter always shows me this stuff the moment I wake up — my weakest moment."
The incident highlights the absurdity of console wars in a time when major players like Microsoft and Sony are diversifying their strategies beyond traditional consoles, leaving perhaps only Nintendo fully focused on hardware. Brand loyalty, it seems, might just be a relic of the past.
